Facility Facility Facility

Sherman Swim School was started by Bob Sherman in 1961. Since then, Sherman Swim School has taught over 38,000 students to swim and turned out numerous diving champions. We are charter members of the United States Swim School Association in which Steve Sherman has served on the Board of Directors. Steve and Laurie Sherman took over the swim school in 1993, continuing a tradition of providing quality swimming and diving lessons in a positive environment.

We believe that private and semi-private lessons are the best way to accommodate the individual needs of each student. Our teachers love to work with children and receive extensive in-water training. Our combination of one-on-one instruction with patient, encouraging teachers, and comfortable warm water create an ideal learning environment. Our goal is not only to teach your child to swim, but to build a strong foundation for a safe and happy swimmer.

Our facility offers three outdoor pools ranging in depth from six inches to twelve feet, providing security and challenge depending on each student's readiness. Our teaching pool is kept at 90 - 92 degrees. We have a large shade structure over much of the teaching pool, providing 98% UV protection. We have a shaded Parent's Area, with a misting system for hot days. We have a Boys and Girls changing room. We also have two 1-meter diving boards as well as a 3-meter diving board. We provide a warm environment for lessons in the colder Spring and Winter months. We are open rain or shine.
