About

Who We Are

Sherman Swim School was started by Bob Sherman in 1961

Since then, Sherman Swim School has taught over 40,000 students to swim and turned out numerous diving champions.

We are charter members of the United States Swim School Association in which Steve Sherman has served on the Board of Directors. Steve and Laurie Sherman took over the swim school in 1993, continuing a tradition of providing quality swimming and diving lessons in a positive environment.

We pick our staff with your children in mind. Our instructors enjoy working with children and receive extensive in-water training. We provide an ideal learning environment with our combination of one-on-one instruction, an uncrowded pool environment, patient, encouraging teachers, and comfortable warm water.

Philosophy

Our goal is not only to teach your child to swim but to build a strong foundation for a safe and happy swimmer.

We believe that private lessons are the best way to accommodate the individual needs of each student.
Our teachers love to work with children and receive extensive in-water training.  By providing a combination of one-on-one instruction, patient, encouraging teachers, and comfortable warm water, we create an ideal learning environment.  Our goal is not only to teach your child to swim, but to build a strong foundation for a safe and happy swimmer.

Our Facility

Our facility offers uncrowded pools which provides plenty of room for one-to-one lesson instruction.  Pool depths range from six inches to twelve feet.

We offer a small, quality program with uncrowded pool space.  The main teaching pool is kept at 90 – 92 degrees and offers a large shade structure which provides 98% UV protection. The Parent’s Area is shaded with a misting system for hot days.

Initially, signup priority to those currently in the program.  We are able to accommodate others if there are additional openings remaining, or when cancellations occur.

You will receive an email notification after submitting your lesson request. When openings are available you will receive an email alerting you of  lesson availability.
